JSCMU-Chapter 24: Exposed
by Jun JunYue Lin’s words of mockery were instantly stuck in his throat.
He stared in disbelief at that single lotus petal.
A sword giving rise to a lotus, this was the hallmark of reaching the first level of the Lotus Sword Technique!
Yun Jin had actually mastered a mid-tier Xuan level sword technique?
No. Impossible. Something was definitely fishy.
Ruan Jun thought the same. He snapped, “Si Wanning, did you do something behind the scenes? Create some kind of illusion to fake the lotus bloom?”
Si Wanning raised her hands, palms empty. “Go ahead, tell me. What exactly did I do?”
Ruan Jun didn’t know. But that didn’t stop him from believing it anyway.
He said coldly, “A new disciple who had only three days in the sect, already mastered a mid-tier Xuan level sword technique. Do you take me for a fool?”
Yun Jin suddenly sighed.
“Senior Brother Ruan, truthfully, I don’t resent your actions today at all.”
Ruan Jun: “???”
Had this been before, he might’ve thought she was trying to appease him. Now, he only felt another outrageous remark coming.
Sure enough.
The next moment, Yun Jin looked at him with pity. “How could a sparrow know the ambitions of a swan? Summer insects cannot discuss ice. Fools cannot comprehend the limits of genius.”
Ruan Jun’s face turned livid, but deep down, strangely enough, it felt expected.
This Yun Jin!
Can’t she speak properly?
Yun Jin gave him a sidelong glance. “Still, you did say earlier that you’re an idiot. Shows you have some self-awareness. That’s at least worth praising. I’ll give you a little red flower.”
Her sword tip trembled, and the floating lotus petal drifted right in front of Ruan Jun.
Humiliation.
Utter disgrace.
Ruan Jun flicked his sleeve, dispersing the lotus petal instantly.
Yun Jin didn’t mind at all. She chuckled. “Next time, if you want another little red flower, just let me know.”
Ruan Jun’s face was livid. He turned to Yue Lin. “Hall Master Yue! There’s something shady here! Even if she did learn the Xuan level sword technique, it still violates sect rules, this is grounds for immediate expulsion! Her little performance just now only proves her guilt, doesn’t it?”
Yue Lin returned to his senses and nodded immediately. “Indeed! Yun Jin, what do you have to say for yourself!”
Yun Jin raised an eyebrow. “Of course I have something to say. Second Senior Sister never taught me the technique. The reason I could learn the Lotus Sword Technique was due to observing her practice.”
Yue Lin: “???”
Ruan Jun: “???”
The two exchanged a glance and bursted into laughter.
Ruan Jun looked smug. “Absurd nonsense is one thing when you spout it to me, but now you dare say that before the Hall Master? That’s an additional offense!”
“Idiots shouldn’t talk,” Yun Jin said bluntly.
Ruan Jun gritted his teeth. He swore he would kill Yun Jin one day!
Absolutely!
Even Yue Zhao looked surprised.
Tsk tsk tsk.
For the longest time, he’d proudly held the number one spot on Ruan Jun’s “Most Hated” list.
And now, in just a few days, his junior sister has already surpassed him.
He almost felt a little left behind.
“You need a manual just to learn a mere Xuan level technique?” Yun Jin continued smugly. “Whether it’s the spiritual energy circulation or the intricacies in the footwork, wouldn’t you naturally understand it after watching it a few times? What use is the manual, hmm?”
This is utter arrogance.
Even Yue Lin couldn’t bear to keep listening. “Ridiculous. Do you think I’ll believe that?”
“Seems you’re on the same level as Senior Brother Ruan,” Yun Jin replied regretfully.
Yue Lin nearly exploded.
Was she calling him an idiot too?
No matter how Yue Lin or Ruan Jun felt, Yun Jin was quite pleased. The wave of Emotion Points harvested was quite rewarding.
She smiled and said, “It’s easy to verify whether I truly have this ability. Bring in some sect disciples to demonstrate sword techniques in front of me. If I can replicate them on the spot, won’t that clarify everything? Since you think I’m faking it, you pick those disciples. That way, I can’t possibly cheat, right?”
Yue Lin narrowed his eyes.
That approach could work.
Ruan Jun couldn’t wait. “In that case, I’ll choose them myself!”
He didn’t know what tricks Yun Jin had up her sleeve,
But there was no way she could do anything this absurd!
This time,
He’d expose her in front of everyone.
Then, openly and justifiably expel her from the sect!
“Any objections?” Yue Lin asked Yun Jin.
Even if she does have any objections, her opinion doesn’t matter.
Yun Jin smiled and agreed readily. “Then I’ll leave it to Senior Brother Ruan.”
Ruan Jun was energized. His gaze toward Yun Jin brimmed with disdain.
That woman sure knows how to run her mouth. But sadly, that’s the only thing she’s good at, with no signs of actual intelligence.
Doesn’t she know whether she is a fake or not? She actually dared to agree to this!
Perfect. He’d teach her a proper lesson!
Ruan Jun personally went to select people.
Soon, he returned with five disciples.
Their cultivation ranged from Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul stage. All of them specialized in swordsmanship, although they only practiced high-tier Huang level techniques.
It wasn’t that Ruan Jun didn’t want to find disciples skilled in Xuan level techniques. But Yun Jin had already “perfectly faked” the Lotus Sword Technique, and the Void Breaking Sword Technique was Yue Zhao’s specialty. What if he had a way to help her cheat again?
There were only three Xuan level sword techniques in the entire Tianxing Sect, and those who practiced them were all exceptionally gifted that could not be causally summoned or dismissed.
Still,
A high-tier Huang level sword technique would be more than enough to expose Yun Jin’s farce.
At the sparring platform,
Ruan Jun watched Yun Jin with calm confidence. “Even if you regret it now, it’s already too late.”
He had made a big show of selecting the participants, and by now, many curious disciples had gathered around the sparring platform.
Some of them had witnessed that duel before, making them all the more intrigued.
They also vaguely noticed that Yun Jin had seemed to use some sort of sword technique that day.
But it had been a fleeting moment and no one had seen it clearly. No one could say for certain.
And now,
Yun Jin had claimed, in front of everyone, that she had used the Lotus Sword Technique, and she was about to prove she could learn sword techniques without reading any manuals.
Excuse me?
Is that even scientific?
Of course not.
So, more and more people gathered to watch.
Yun Jin grinned and hopped up onto the platform. Casually, she pointed to one of the disciples. “You there. Let’s have you go first.”
The disciple glanced at Ruan Jun.
Ruan Jun gave a barely noticeable nod.
Only then did the disciple step up onto the platform.
He immediately began demonstrating his sword technique.
After one full round,
The system had completed its scan.
“Langya Sword Technique. High-tier Huang level Grade.”
Yun Jin couldn’t be bothered to read the full description, and directly had the system simplify it.
With her current stockpile of emotional points, she wasn’t worried about using simplification attempts.
As expected, Huang level sword techniques didn’t hold a candle to Xuan level ones.
Yun Jin simplified the information twice before getting a satisfactory result:
“Can be learned after three viewings. (One viewing complete.)”
Yun Jin smiled, then put on her usual smug performance. “Back then, when I watched Senior Sister practice the Lotus Sword Technique, I watched a full ten times before I got the hang of it. If it’s you…three times should do it.”
