AMSSO-Chapter 100: He’s Back
by Jun JunChu Family.
Chu Tianbai was pacing nervously in the courtyard, glancing toward the room every few seconds, both anxious and expectant.
Inside, his son Chu Jinglin was in the midst of establishing his Foundation.
At only twenty-one years old, if Chu Jinglin succeeded, he would be qualified to enter Changtian Sect’s Yuan Shuang Peak as an inner disciple.
That would elevate the entire Chu Family to a new level.
The thought filled Chu Tianbai with both excitement and tension.
Before long, the spiritual energy in the area began to stir violently, surging toward the room.
A flash of joy appeared on Chu Tianbai’s face.
This was the final stage!
He stared fixedly at the closed door, torn between wanting to rush in and knowing he shouldn’t.
One could assist another during foundation establishment, but it’s not a good thing.
A self-formed foundation was always the most stable, after all, the path ahead was long!
So despite his burning anxiety, he didn’t dare interrupt his son’s process.
After a period of time, the previously turbulent spiritual energy gradually calmed.
A radiant smile spread across Chu Tianbai’s face.
Success!
Moments later, the door opened and a young man emerged.
“Father! I’ve built my foundation!”
Chu Jinglin’s face glowed with pride and excitement, “I’ve succeeded!”
“Good! Good son!” Chu Tianbai gripped his shoulder, eyes wet with tears. “You didn’t let your father down!”
Chu Jinglin beamed, “I never would, Father!”
Once the foundation was complete, Chu Tianbai finally allowed others to enter the courtyard.
As people poured into the courtyard, the room filled with congratulations, “Jinglin is indeed a genius! Only twenty-one, and had already established his foundation!”
“Isn’t that incredible? Who could establish their foundation that quickly? I was nearly thirty when I broke through!”
“You? Don’t compare yourself to Ah Lin! Ah Lin’s a prodigy, you’re just an ordinary person!”
“Exactly! Ah Lin is the pride of our Chu Family!”
“With his talent, even in Changtian Sect, he’d rank among the top!”
“What do you mean among the top? With his potential, he’ll be the very best!”
Hearing their flattery, Chu Jinglin couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear, face glowing red with satisfaction.
“Our Chu Family’s sons are naturally extraordinary!”
“Indeed, just like Jingzhuo was back then…”
Someone got carried away with the praise and directly mentioned Chu Jingzhuo.
The moment those words came out, the courtyard instantly fell silent.
Everyone’s gaze turned awkward at the person.
Finally realizing their mistake, their face instantly paled.
Meeting Chu Tianbai’s cold, shadowed stare, they shuddered violently.
A friend beside him hurriedly smoothed things over, “Ah, Jingzhuo had some talent, but his luck was poor. In cultivation, strength and fortune are both vital! And in those, who could compare to our Jinglin? He’s a true Heaven-blessed child!”
That soothed the pair of father and son’s expressions slightly.
Another quickly chimed in, “Of course! Who could be luckier than Jinglin? He’s destined to soar, becoming a true immortal!”
“Yes! Jinglin is our Chu Family’s hope! We’re all counting on you!”
Laughter returned to the courtyard, warm and celebratory.
As for Chu Jingzhuo, the name faded just as quickly as it had surfaced.
A boy with a damaged spiritual root, how could he still have a future?
Though Chu Jingzhuo had built his foundation at fifteen, an age so young that it marked him as a once-in-a-generation prodigy.
It’s no use being a genius, who let him be an eyesore to Chu Tianbai father and son?
His father died early, with no way to protect him.
His mother also didn’t have much power, similarly unable to protect him.
His ice spiritual root was also damaged, wanting to repair it wasn’t impossible, but definitely wasn’t easy.
They’d heard he’d joined some small sect.
That’s as good as giving up!
Even if he hadn’t, who would take him in?
A tiny sect couldn’t possibly restore his spiritual root, he would slowly turn back into an ordinary mortal.
Well, who told him to offend Chu Tianbai father and son?
Chu Tianbai father and son had control over the Chu Family, and even had connections with Changtian Sect. Who would dare complain?
Whatever, they couldn’t be bothered, they should take care of themselves first!
The others exchanged knowing glances and doubled their praises of Chu Jinglin, directly elevating him to a pedestal higher than the heavens.
The celebratory mood reached its peak when Tan Fangjun of Changtian Sect arrived.
Tan Fangjun was the steward of inner affairs of Yuan Shuang Peak, responsible for training and administration of disciples, second only to the Peak Master himself.
“Steward Tan!”Seeing Tan Fangjun, everyone’s eyes lit up immediately.
Chu Tianbai and his son hurried forward with radiant smiles, bowing deeply, “Steward Tan, your esteemed presence truly brings glory to our humble home!”
Tan Fangjun smiled pleasantly, “Patriarch Chu, you’re too polite.”
After a round of formal courtesies, those watching could hardly contain their excitement.
Chu Tianbai really had connections with Changtian Sect!
Though Tan Fangjun was only an inner affairs steward of Yuan Shuang Peak in Changtian Sect, and there were many stewards in the sect, being able to curry favor with Tan Fangjun is no easy feat!
It’s rumored that to become a steward, they need to be in Nascent Soul Stage at least!
The Chu Family had only one Nascent Soul cultivator,Chu Tianbai, and they couldn’t compare at all to Changtian Sect.
Changtian Sect, as one of the top ten Great Sects, was said to house even Fusion Stage Ancestors.
A single wave of such an elder’s hand could wipe the Chu Family from existence.
So, to curry favor with a steward like Tan Fangjun was an immense honor.
Moreover, with Chu Jinglin becoming a disciple under Yuan Shuang Peak, he’d go far in the future, and because of that, the entire Chu Family could also rise to glory!
Thinking of that, they couldn’t control their excitement and their gaze at Tan Fangjun seem to carry endless admiration.
Tan Fangjun was long used to such reverence. Smiling, he turned to Chu Jinglin, “You must be Chu Jinglin?”
“Y-yes!” Chu Jinglin nodded quickly. “You can call me Ah Lin!”
Tan Fangjun chuckled, “Very well, Ah Lin it is.”
The corners of Chu Jinglin’s mouth almost reached his ears.
“You’ve already established your foundation?”
“Yes, sir!” Chu Jinglin nodded eagerly, pride gleaming in his eyes. “Just established it! I’m twenty-one!”
Tan Fangjun caught the hint of boasting and smiled, “Excellent, young and accomplished.”
Chu Jinglin’s grin couldn’t be hidden.
“I’ve come on behalf of Peak Master Wei Zijian to accept disciples. Would you be willing to join Yuan Shuang Peak?”
“I’m willing!” Chu Jinglin dropped to his knees with a loud thud, bowing deeply. “Master above, please accept this disciple’s worship!”
Tan Fangjun sidestepped slightly, smiling, “I’ve accepted you on the Peak Master’s behalf. Pack your things, you’ll come with me to Changtian Sect.”
“Yes!” Chu Jinglin’s face flushed red with excitement.
The others were equally elated.
They felt like their whole family was about to ascend!
Just as they were feeling happy, a guard burst into the courtyard, “This is bad! This is bad! C-Chu… Chu Jingzhuo has returned!”
